Lebanon duo takes Jeep Cherokee for a test drive and fails to return it

39-year-old Jacquez Harden was charged for theft of property after he test drove a 2015 Jeep Cherokee from Select Auto In Lebanon and failed to return it.

On May 14th, LPD Officer Corley was dispatched to Select Auto at 1011 W. Main for a report of a stolen 2015 White Jeep Cherokee when Chris Fite, an employee. He identified the defendant, Jacquez Harden, who test drove the vehicle and did not return it. There was a passenger in the vehicle, Mildred Hyatte, when Harden drove off.

After a BOLO was issued and LPD Detective Sandefur and LPD Officer Fumes conducted a traffic stop around S. Maple and Holloway Road and they detained Harden. One of the officers searched Hyatte and found a bag of what he believed to be heroin in her coin pocket. The value of the vehicle was set at $15,000.

Jacquez Harden was arrested and charged for theft of property. His bond was set at $2,500.
