Mt. Juliet man charged with DUI, weed after passing out behind wheel

24-year-old Javier Galvez was charged with DUI, possession of marijuana for resale, and drug paraphernalia when officers found him passed out behind the wheel of a running vehicle.

On April 23rd, Mt. Juliet Police Officer Wiley responded to a call about a driver incapacitated behind the wheel. According to affidavits, the officer observed Javier Galvez behind the wheel of a running vehicle and immediately noticed the scent of cannabis.

The officer also noted that Galvez showed obvious signs of impairment and did not fair well on sobriety tests. A search of Galvez’s vehicle produced a grinder and two bags of weed together weighing 35 grams.

Javier Galvez was arrested and charged with DUI, possession of marijuana for resale, and drug paraphernalia. He was later released on his own recognizance.
