Antioch man caught trying to sell stolen motorcycle in Lebanon

25-year-old Varry Watts was charged with theft of property after he was caught trying to sell a stolen motorcycle to Ground Up Recycling in Lebanon. The motorcycle was stolen out of Davidson County in June 2018.

On July 17th, LPD Officer Taylor was dispatched to Ground Up Recycling at 5776 East Division Street for a registration check. Upon arrival, contact was made with the owner who wanted a registration verified on a motorcycle Varry Watts brought in. Officer made contact with Varry sitting in a vehicle next to the motorcycle.

A computer check revealed the motorcycle was listed stolen in Davidson County in June 2018. Officer stated he observed security camera footage of Varry driving the bike to the business. He also stated Varry’s possession of the motorcycle deprived the rightful owner of their property. According to the affidavit, the estimated value of the motorcycle is $4,000.

Varry Watts was arrested and charged with theft of property. His bond was set at $7,500.
