Felon caught with multiple drugs and firearm during traffic stop for not wearing a seatbelt

45-year-old Od Keomuangtai was charged with possession of Suboxone, meth, and marijuana with intent, two counts of illegal possession of a weapon, and possession of paraphernalia after being pulled over for not wearing a seatbelt.

On August 15th, WCSO Sgt. Dustin Harvey attempted to stop a vehicle at 1028 Sparta Pike that was being driven by Fransisco Ruiz because he was not wearing a seatbelt. The driver tried to avoid being stopped but was found by Deputy Smith and a stop was initiated. The passenger, Od Keomuangtai, was asked to exit the vehicle where Deputy Smith saw a needle sticking out of his pants pocket and noticed that he smelled of marijuana.

In Keomuangtai’s right pocket was a plastic bag with five grams of marijuana, and in his coin pocket there was another bag with five grams of meth. There was also a white paper containing four orange pills, Suboxone, and another paper with one gram of meth in Keomuangtai’s wallet. The deputy also found a Taurus G2C 9 mm with an extended magazine between the console and passenger seat and a glass pipe on the floorboard. A computer check was run which revealed Keomuangtai as a convicted felon.

Od Keomuangtai was arrested and charged with possession of Suboxone, meth, and marijuana with intent, two counts of illegal possession of a weapon, and possession of paraphernalia. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $91,000 bond.
