Lebanon man violates his conditions of release over a popsicle

31-year-old Mark McLaughlin was charged with aggravated stalking, two counts of violating his conditions of release, violation of probation, and evading arrest after he was found at the home of the protected person on his COR calling and texting her to get a popsicle.

On July 25th, Officer Sean Gilley made the scene for a possible violation of conditions of release at 730 Page Avenue. When Officer Gilley arrived, Mark McLaughlin was standing on the property. When he saw the officer he attempted to flee the scene on foot. Officer Gilley was able to catch up with McLaughlin at 729 North Greenwood Extension and was able to detain him.

In custody, McLaughlin stated that he was trying to get a popsicle and that he had tried to call and text Samantha Dowdy, the protected person on the condition of release. Officers discovered that McLaughlin had been calling and texting Ms. Dowdy from various numbers and that he had been seen on the property numerous times that week unplugging security cameras.

Mark McLaughlin was arrested and charged with aggravated stalking, two counts of violating his conditions of release, violation of probation, and evading arrest. His bond was set at $130,000.
