Shelbyville man unable to stay in his lane after 2 Modelos

46-year-old Roberto Francisco was charged with driving under the influence and driving on a suspended license after an officer noticed he could not maintain his lane of travel.

On August 18th, Officer Conner noticed a vehicle failing to maintain a lane of travel and initiated a traffic stop. The officer detected Roberto Francisco had red watery eyes and slurred speech. Francisco admitted to having consumed two Modelo Beers before driving. When asked to exit the vehicle Officer Conner was easily able to smell the alcohol on Francisco’s breath.

He was also unsteady on his feet. The officer proceeded with Standardized Field Sobriety Tests during which Francisco showed clues of impairment. A check was also run which showed his license was suspended for financial responsibility in June of 2014.

Roberto Francisco was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and driving on a suspended license. He was later released on his own recognizance.
