Teen pops his top; assaults mother over use of the car

19-year-old Alexander Ayers was charged with domestic assault after throwing a 12-pack of soda at his mother and threatening her with another because she wouldn’t let him use the car.

On August 23rd, Mt. Juliet Police Officer Troutman was dispatched to 1014 Somerset Trace in regards to a domestic dispute. The investigation showed that Alexander Ayers was having an argument with his mother, Gayle Ayers, over the use of a vehicle. Gayle had denied him use of the car because it did not have insurance.

Alexander got aggressive, picked up a twelve-pack of soda, and threw them in the direction of his mother. Some of the cans busted and hit the ground spraying other things to include the carpeted floor. Alexander then grabbed a second twelve-pack, raising it over his head menacingly. Gayle believed he planned to throw the cans at her so she left the home for her safety.

Alexander Ayers was arrested and charged with domestic assault. His bond was set at $1,000.
