Cookeville felon and two men found in a stolen vehicle with THC and Del-Ton AR-15

27-year-old Vaughn Cornelia, 36-year-old Christy Dailey, and 39-year-old Brandon Forbes were charged after police patrolling the area of North Mt. Juliet Road got a hit on their vehicle as showing stolen out of Nashville.

On August 26th, Mt. Juliet Police Officer Brown was on a routine patrol in the area of North Mt. Juliet Road when he received a license plate reader alert for a stolen vehicle on Old Lebanon Dirt Road. The officer noticed the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The driver, Brandon Forbes sped up, weaving in and out, and driving into oncoming traffic. The officer pursued Forbes until he wrecked near First Freedom Bank at 2008 Providence Parkway.

He then observed Forbes and two passengers, Vaughn Cornelia and Christy Dailey, flee from the vehicle on foot. The vehicle was searched and officers found multiple glass pipes, a baggy containing suspected marijuana, and a Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) vape cartridge. A loaded and chambered Del-Ton AR-15 rifle was also found on the rear passenger floor. No one from the vehicle claimed ownership of the items found. Forbes’ license was revoked in October of 2013. Dailey has been a convicted felon since October of 2013.

Christy Dailey was arrested and charged with felon in possession of a weapon, simple possession, evading arrest, and unlawful drug paraphernalia. She is currently jailed in lieu of a $32,000 bond.

Vaughn Cornelia was arrested and charged with possession of paraphernalia, evading arrest, simple possession, and violation of probation. His bond was set at $4,000.

Brandon Forbes was arrested and charged with theft of property, unlawful possession of a weapon, evading arrest, reckless endangerment, simple possession, unlawful drug paraphernalia, and driving with a revoked license. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $53,000 bond.
