Man tries walking to hotel after night of drinking; charged with public intoxication

42-year-old Mark Polk was charged with public intoxication after police spotted him walking down the road while intoxicated. He told police he had been drinking at Whiskey River and was walking to his hotel several miles away.

On September 2nd, officers responded to Babb Drive for a possible intoxicated person that was identified as Mark Polk. According to the affidavit, Polk had an odor of intoxicant on his breath and body, he was unsteady on his feet, had slurred speech, and reddish watery eyes.

Polk stated he had been drinking at Whiskey River and was going to walk back to his hotel on Franklin Road. For his safety and that of the public, he was taken into custody.

Mark Polk was arrested and charged with public intoxication. He was later released on his own recognizance.
