57-year-old John Wayne Tramel was charged with domestic assault and resisting arrest after he threatened his cousin with a hammer after a few drinks.
On October 13, Wilson County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a domestic dispute at 410 Ben Green Road. Rachel Baine, the cousin of John Tramel, was at the residence to care for her aunt. She informed the officers that Tramel was drunk and went around the house with a hammer breaking household items.
In a state of fear, Rachel Baine called the police then Tramel slapped the phone out of her hand. When officers arrived they were arresting Tramel for domestic assault when he held his hands up to his chest and wouldn’t follow their commands so he was also charged with resisting arrest.
John Wayne Tramel was arrested and charged with domestic assault and resisting arrest. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $1,700 bond.
