57-year-old Naomi Henry was captured on video assaulting her 16-year-old daughter as she was cowering on the floor, covering her face in defense, and shrieking in fear. The mother took a friend with her to the daughter’s house and cornered her in a bedroom, saying she decided to “pop her in the face”, explaining her “children were being extremely rebellious, and she did not know how to handle them anymore”

| On 8/16/21 I, Officer Angle, responded to Green Hill High School in regards to a domestic assault. On scene, I met with juvenile sisters, Leanne and Anika. Drive. Leanne (6/2/04) was a witness to an assault of her sister Anika (6/25/05). Leanne provided a video that showed their mother, Naomi Henry, assaulting the younger sister Anika. In the video, you see Anika on the ground covering her face and telling Naomi Henry to leave her alone. The video shows Naomi Henry telling Anika to quit talking back and smacking her in the face several times. In person, I observed Anika’s face and could see a small amount of swelling above her right eye, which was photographed. When asked what caused this event, Anika said that she had sent her mother a text message of something ” silly ” and was “just messing” with her, but that her mother does ‘ t have a sense of humor. Anika said a little while later, Naomi, who does not live with her, showed at 102 Medearis Drive to confront Anika. Anika said that Naomi and a family friend began yelling at her, and cornered Anika until she made it into her room, where she got on the ground and covered her face In fear. Anika advised all she remembers after that was being hit In the face by her mother, Naomi. I then responded to Naomi’s house, 319 Santa Rosa Dr, to get her side of the story. When asked what bad happened, Naomi sat down and remained silent for a long period of time. Naomi eventually said that her children were being extremely rebellious, and she did not know how to handle them anymore. Naomi said that Anika had sent her a text that said something along the lines of ” fuck you” and “leave me alone” along with other vulgar things. Naomi said she and a family friend decided to drive to 102 Medearis Drive and confront Anika about the text. Naomi said once on scene, they began to confront Anika, and that Anika retreated to her room, laid on the ground, and began shrieking. Naomi said they kept talking to Anika, but Anika was talking back to them, and so Naomi decided to “pop” Anika In the face. Naomi said she did not “hit” her, but “popped” her multiple times in the face. Naomi said that she does not have a lot of upper arm strength and that If Anika bruised or was swollen then “she bruises easy” The assault occurred In Mt. Juliet, Wilson County TN. Ms. Naomi Henry is being charged with Domestic Assault TN TCA 39-13-111. |
