42-year-old Jeffrey Pignone was charged with DUI after he was found asleep in his vehicle on the side of the road and claimed he ran out of gas when he had more than half of a tank, per report.
On November 13th, Wilson County Sheriff’s Deputy Lanius reported a vehicle with a flat tire on the side of the road. The deputy stated the driver, Jeffrey Pignone, was asleep in the car behind the wheel.
According to the affidavit, Pignone claimed he ran out of gas and fell asleep. However, the deputy said he had over half of a tank of gas in the vehicle. Deputy Lanius advised Pignone exhibited signs of intoxication, such as red eyes, slurred speech, and unsteady feet, and performed poorly on several sobriety tests.
Jeffrey Pignone was arrested and charged with DUI. He was later released on a $1,500 bond.
