Belk employee charged with stealing cash & chocolate bars

MT. JULIET, TN – Mt. Juliet Police arrested Kelsi Balliache at the Belk store on April 10th, after internal loss prevention took her into custody for stealing $30 cash from a register and 3 chocolate bars.

Christopher Miller, a loss prevention officer for Belk, says he witnessed 20-year-old employee Kelsi Balliache remove $30.00 in cash from a register she was working, and place it in her purse. He states she also took three chocolate bars and concealed them in her purse. He took her into custody, and turned notified Mt. Juliet PD, who made the arrest. The total value of the property is $39.75. Balliache was charged with theft of property (<$1000), and was released on her own recognizance after being booked into the Wilson County jail. She is scheduled to appear in court in July.
