Mt. Juliet Police say they found 21-year-old Samuel Mixer sitting in the driver’s seat of his vehicle, which had left the roadway with its lights still on, as reported by multiple citizens. Police say he admitted to drinking before driving that night.
Officer Megan Smith responded to the area of 100 FedEx Way in the early morning hours of October 7th for a report of a vehicle off the roadway with its headlights on. The officer made contact with the 21-year-old driver, Samuel Blair Mixer, who was still sitting in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. He reportedly smelled of alcohol and was unsteady on his feet when stepping from the vehicle.
According to a police report, he admitted to drinking prior to driving that evening. He showed signs of impairment on all three field sobriety tests performed. He was booked into the Wilson County jail, charged with DUI – 1st Offense. His father, Burton Mixer, who is a State Trial Courts Community Corrections Officer with Metro Nashville, posted his $1200 all cash bond, and he was released just after 11 a.m. that morning with a January court date.
