Officers find partially smoked blunt in cupholder; woman charged with DUI

23-year-old Anna Rhodes was charged with DUI and simple possession after police conducted a traffic stop because she was crossing over the centerline between lanes.

On February 19th, officers conducted a traffic stop after having witnessed a vehicle crossing over the centerline between lanes. Upon making contact with Anna Rhodes, the driver of the vehicle, officers smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car. Anna was then removed from the vehicle and officers began searching it, which uncovered a partially smoked blunt in the center console cup holder.

Anna admitted to hotboxing her vehicle the night before but also stated that she is prescribed Seroquel and Gabapentin to be taken daily. The officer noted that Anna was unsteady on her feet, had bloodshot watery eyes, and heavy lethargic speech. The officer asked Anna to perform a standard field sobriety test to which she consented. During the test, Anna exhibited signs of impairment throughout all aspects of the test.

Anna Rhodes was arrested and charged with DUI and Simple Possession. She was later released on her own recognizance.
