35-year-old Rebecca Polston was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, assault of an officer, resisting arrest, public intoxication, and disorderly conduct after she was involved in a vehicle accident, headbutted an officer, spit in an officer’s face, and caused a scene in the hospital.
On March 11th, officers were responding to a wreck on I-40 at mile marker 240. Police were speaking with the driver of the vehicle who was looking for his glasses. The officer walked around to the passenger side and the passenger, Rebecca Polston, headbutted the officer. Rebecca would not stay out of the roadway and pulled her fist back in an attempt to hit the officer. The officer then took her into custody and Rebecca began yelling, “Don’t f’ing touch me!”
Police noted that Rebecca smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot, watery eyes, slurred speech, and was unsteady on her feet. Rebecca was transported to booking where she stated that she needed to seek medical assistance. Police escorted Rebecca to the hospital and began yelling and cursing at officers while in the lobby and in front of multiple bystanders that included children. Rebecca also spat in Officer Reynold’s face. Rebecca was later transported back to booking and charged accordingly.
Rebecca Polston was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault, assault of an officer, resisting arrest, public intoxication, and disorderly conduct. Her bond was set at $13,000.
