Lebanon woman dealing with charges after simple traffic stop

46-year-old Laura Wells was charged with possession of marijuana for resale and drug paraphernalia after an officer smelled marijuana during traffic a stop.

On March 1st, Officer Clayton Neal observed a vehicle fail to comply with a traffic sign and initiated a traffic stop. The driver was identified as Laura Wells. Officer Neal detected the scent of marijuana emitting from the vehicle, so he conducted a “probable cause” search.

During the search, Laura admitted that everything in the backpack belonged to her. The search produced approximately 33 grams of weed in separate bags, wax, a scale, two grinders with residue, and an assortment of metal and glass pipes also with residue.

Laura Wells was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana for resale and drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $10,000.
