26-year-old Tyler Gross was charged with tampering with evidence and resisting arrest after an officer approached and asked to talk to him prompting flight and a hasty disposal of what “appeared to be” paraphernalia.
On March 13th, Lt. Gatlin with the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office spotted Tyler Gross and thought he had outstanding warrants. According to affidavits, Lt. Gatlin asked Tyler if he could speak with him.
This triggered Tyler to take flight and fling an object to the ground. The officer chased Tyler to an unnamed business where, according to reports, the officer observed Tyler toss what “appeared to be a glass pipe” into a machine that destroyed it beyond identification or recovery.
Tyler Gross was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence and resisting arrest. He was later released on his own recognizance.
