Nashville woman charged with possession during traffic stop in Wilson County

29-year-old Amanda Richardson was charged with possession of fentanyl for resale and drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop and the odor of marijuana led to officers finding a zip lock bag that contained fentanyl and a cut straw in her purse.

On March 24th, Officer Hite was dispatched to the area of Sparta Pike and Young Road in reference to a possible intoxicated driver. The officer made contact with the driver and identified her as Amanda Richardson. The officer noted that a strong smell of marijuana was coming from Amanda’s vehicle.

According to the affidavit, the officer observed in plain sight a cigarette pack that contained a white powdery substance believed to be fentanyl. Also in plain sight was a zip lock bag that contained a white powdery substance believed to be fentanyl. The total weight of the substance was approximately 46.4 grams. The officer then searched Amanda’s purse and discovered a cut straw.

Amanda Richardson was arrested and charged for possession of fentanyl for resale and drug paraphernalia. She was later released on her own recognizance.
