McMinnville man with no license swerves while driving; charged with DUI

28-year-old Jose Rodriguez was charged with driving under the influence when he was swerving in and out of the lane on Sparta Pike more than once while police followed him. He was found to not have a license of any kind.

On May 17th, deputies were called to Sparta Pike in response to an impaired driver. Deputy Darbonne spotted the vehicle and followed it which he noticed the vehicle crossing over the fog and center lines more than once. He conducted a traffic stop to find the defendant, Jose Rodriguez, smelling of alcohol, slurring his speech, and bloodshot red eyes to be driving the vehicle.

When asked to step out of the vehicle he was described as unsteady on his feet via the police report. He then demonstrated impairment via his performance of a standard field sobriety test and consented to a blood test. Deputies checked through their driver’s license record and he was found to have no driver’s license in any state.

Jose Rodriguez was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and driving without a license. His bond was set at $1,500.
