Mt. Juliet man asks officer to just ‘take him home’ after 2nd DUI charge in less than 6 months

44-year-old James Allen was charged with driving under the influence again when he crashed his vehicle less than two miles from his address. He refused sobriety tests, instead asking an officer to take him home.

On May 2nd, MJPD Officer Myers was called to a crash. He joined Officers Neal and Smith at Baird Farms where they were questioning James Allen.

According to the affidavit, Allen was driving the wrecked vehicle and officers noted typical signs of impairment. He declined to participate in field sobriety examination and asked Officer Myers to take him home. Allen was already on bond from a December 2019 DUI.

James Allen was arrested charged with driving under the influence. His bond was set at $2,000.
