Chicken Road family dispute ends with domestic assault charge for future son-in-law

20-year-old Sean Austin was charged with domestic assault when he and his future mother-in-law got into a verbal confrontation that escalated when his car door hit her and he then pushed her to the ground before threatening her with a metal rod.

On April 29th, WCSO Deputy Hunter Warren was called to 1933-B Chicken Road for a domestic situation. According to the affidavit, Jenny Cruz told authorities she lives there with her daughter and Sean Austin, who is her daughter’s fiance.

She testified that when Sean came home a verbal altercation commenced and then escalated when her future son-in-law flung his car door open and she was hit with it. That didn’t stop their argument and Cruz claimed Sean also pushed her down and threatened her with a metal rod.

Sean Austin was arrested and charged with domestic assault. He was later released on his own recognizance.
