Big Lots shopper attempts to enter stranger’s vehicle, later urinates on himself

57-year-old William Dies was charged with public intoxication after repeatedly attempting to enter a stranger’s vehicle in the parking lot of Big Lots in Lebanon. Officers later noted that it appeared as though the man had been drinking and that he had urinated on himself, per report.

On June 1st, Officer Rourke received a call regarding an inebriated person in the parking lot of the Big Lots located on 1031 W. Main Street in Lebanon. Upon arrival, Rourke met with the victim, who informed law enforcement that a male had exited the discount store and approached the passenger side of her vehicle.

According to the affidavit, the man, later identified as William Dies, began to pull on the door’s handle in attempts to enter the vehicle. Rourke proceeded to meet with Dies, who remained in the parking lot throughout the encounter.

As the officer began questioning Dies, a strong alcoholic scent was emitting from the man’s breath. Rourke additionally noted that Dies’ speech was slurred, his eyes bloodshot and his pants giving off an impression of urination. Dies later confessed to drinking throughout the day and was taken into custody for public intoxication.

William Dies was arrested and charged with public intoxication. He was later freed on pre-trial release.
