Mt. Juliet man on federal probation assaults his mother with a phone charger

25-year-old Kudakwashe Mandishona was charged with aggravated domestic assault and resisting arrest when his mother told his federal probation officer that he attempted to strangle her with a phone charger cable.

On May 30th, Mt. Juliet Police officers were dispatched to 732 Tennypark Lane in regard to a domestic assault. According to affidavits, the federal probation officer for Kudakwashe Mandishona received an email from Violet Mandishona who is Kudakwashe’s mother. She told his PO he had assaulted her.

Violet advised MJPD officials that while arguing over a phone charger, Kudakwashe had approached her from behind and attempted to wrap the charger cable around her neck. When she impeded the attack, he instead constricted the cord around her head and cheekbones. Red marks were observed on Violet that corroborated her account. Officer Clark noted that Kudakwashe was immediately defensive when contacted and ignored orders while resisting detention.

Kudakwashe Mandishona was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic assault and resisting arrest. He was on federal probation in connection with a 2018 indictment and is currently jailed without bond.
