Lafayette woman swerves into oncoming lane of traffic while impaired

28-year-old Rachel McMillian was charged with her first offense of driving under the influence after an officer noticed the woman driving into the oncoming lane of traffic on Hartman Drive in Lebanon.

On June 28th, Sergeant Keyes noticed a vehicle traveling in front of him on Hartman Dr in Lebanon. According to the affidavit, McMillian was observed swerving into the oncoming lane. Keyes proceeded to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle. Upon approach, McMillian was noted to have a slurred manner of speaking and watery red eyes, per report.

Keyes proceeded to administer field sobriety tests on McMillian in a nearby parking lot. The woman displayed signs of inebriation throughout the examination.

Rachel McMillian was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. She was later released on her own recognizance.
