Man falls out of wheelchair, pulls stolen gun on woman during argument

25-year-old Juan Melendez was charged with theft of property and unlawful possession of a firearm when was in an argument with a woman that involved a stolen handgun, per report.

On July 25th, Deputy Matt Lanius was dispatched to a domestic call at 799 Leeville Road. Upon arrival, contact was made with Juan Carlos Melendez and Daisy Vargas, who stated they had been arguing.

During the argument, Melendez either fell or was knocked out of his wheelchair, where he then crawled to the bedroom and grabbed a Sig Sauer P220 .45 cal handgun, which was shown to be stolen out of Nashville on January 31st. It was also later revealed that Melendez is a convicted felon for the sale of schedule VI and schedule II drugs.

Juan Melendez was arrested and charged with theft of property and unlawful possession of a firearm. His bond was set at $2,000.
