Mt. Juliet man spotted hitting girlfriend while driving down the road

35-year-old Kristopher Wheeler was charged with domestic assault, interference with emergency calls, and violation of probation after he was observed hitting his girlfriend while they were driving down the road.

On August 3rd, Officer Alexander was dispatched to a domestic in progress. Amy Miller called and stated that she observed a man, later identified as Kristopher Wheeler, driving in the area of Stewarts Ferry and Corinth Road while hitting a woman in the back seat, later identified as Hilary Robertson. Miller continued to follow the vehicle when it stopped, where Wheeler got out and Robertson then got into the driver’s seat and took off.

Miller continued to follow and Robertson then stopped at Lacy’s Market at 2330 Couchville Pike. Officer then met with Robertson, who said that her boyfriend, Kristopher Wheeler, was hitting her and pulling her hair. She also stated that when Wheeler is taking drugs that he becomes aggressive. The officer observed several red marks on her face and stated that loose hair was on her shirt.

Robertson also stated that Wheeler had taken her phone so she could not make a call. Officer Darbonne then made contact with Wheeler that was walking on Corinth Road. Office Darbonne stated that Wheeler had dilated pupils and was sweating. Officer ask about the incident with Robertson but he answered that he had been walking and did not know anything about that. A computer check showed that he had an outstanding warrant of Wilson County for vandalism.

Kristopher Wheeler was arrested and charged for domestic assault, interference with emergency calls, violation of probation, and an outstanding warrant for vandalism. His total bond was set at $4,000.
