Police find man intoxicated sitting next to a bottle of vodka at the Uptown Motel

40-year-old Steven Smith was charged with public intoxication when an officer found him reeking of alcoholic beverage sitting next to a bottle of vodka at the Uptown Motel.

On July 31st, Lebanon Police Officer Cody Bryan responded to an unwanted person at the Uptown Motel located on 316 North Cumberland. Upon arrival, he made contact with Steven Smith who had a strong odor of an intoxicant on and about his breath and person.

Smith also was sitting next to a partial bottle of vodka. Smith was unsteady on his feet, had red watery eyes, and slurred speech. Due to his level of intoxication and for his safety as well as that of the general public, Smith was taken into custody.

Steven Smith was arrested and charged with public intoxication. On August 12th, he was released with his sentence served.
