Man charged with meth possession after routine traffic stop

27-year-old Keaton Russell was charged with possession of meth and drug paraphernalia after being pulled over on a light law violation.

On August 30th, Officer Zachary Taylor initiated a traffic stop at Tennessee Boulevard and South Cumberland Street due to a light law violation. Officer Taylor found the driver of the vehicle to be Keaton Russell and upon contact, the officer noticed a cut straw with residue in between Keaton’s legs on the seat.

Keaton got out of the vehicle and during the officer’s pat-down, discovered a clear plastic bag on the ground beside the driver door which contained a white crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine.

Keaton Russell was arrested and charged with possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $3,000.
