35-year-old Walter Dirl was charged with his 3rd DUI after he failed to dim his lights to an oncoming vehicle, straddled the yellow line, and wads found with expired temp tags.

On August 23rd, Walter Dirl was charged with his 3rd DUI when Wilson County Sheriff Officer Lanius observed Dirl failing to dim his high beams when meeting him on Adams Lane. Officer Lanius turned around and pulled Dirl over at the Tiger Mart on 125 N Mt Juliet Road after observing Dirl swerving and straddling the yellow lines in his rearview mirror.

Dirl was wearing a mask making it difficult for Officer Lanius to detect slurred speech but he did observe Dirl unsteady on foot. Officer Lanius smelled the odor commonly associated with alcoholic beverages on his breath and observed an empty Evan Williams liquor bottle on the floor of the vehicle. Dirl stated that he had not had anything to drink which he later admitted after he failed a field sobriety test and submitted to a blood-alcohol test.

Walter Dirl was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated. His bond was set at $1,000.
