Pegram man needing roadside assistance charged with DUI and driving on revoked license

28-year-old Jonathan Watson was charged with driving under the influence and driving on a revoked license after he requested officer assistance and was found to be intoxicated.

On August 31st, Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Webster responded to a motor assist call on Interstate 40 near Mile Marker 239. Upon arrival, the trooper noticed Jonathan Watson sitting on the shoulder of the road in a gold Toyota Avalon. Watson told the trooper that the car needed to be jumped off.

Trooper Webster observed Watson having slurred speech, red watery eyes, and an odor of intoxicant on his breath and person. Watson was given a field of sobriety test which he showed multiple clues of impairment. A computer check showed that Watson had a revoked license from a prior DUI charge in Cheatham County in March 2019. Watson then admitted to having two pending DUI charges out of Coffee County.

Jonathan Watson was arrested and charged with driving under the influence and driving on a revoked license. His bond was set $3,000.
