Cold Coronas and cocaine found in man’s vehicle; he had 7 Coronas prior to driving, per report

22-year-old Everardo Martinez Lopez was charged with driving under the influence, simple exchange, and driving without a license when he lost control of his vehicle after speeding through an intersection with beer and cocaine in the vehicle.

On October 7th, Wilson County Deputy Nathan Montoya observed a vehicle traveling a high rate of speed through the intersection of Murfreesboro Road and Maddox Simpson Drive in Lebanon. Deputy Montoya attempted to follow and saw brake lights and a vehicle surrounded by smoke in the middle of the Holloway Circle. Deputy Montoya observed skid marks in the roadway and made contact with the driver, Everardo Martinez Lopez from his Mexican identification. He had a strong odor of an intoxicant about his breath and person.

Lopez had watery eyes and was unsteady on his feet. Deputy Montoya saw multiple open containers of Corona still cold inside the vehicle. Lopez admitted that he had seven beers prior to driving. In the vehicle, in plain view, reportedly the deputy saw a clear bag with a white powdery substance to be cocaine. Lopez was unable to perform field sobriety tasks.

Everardo Lopez was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, simple exchange, and driving without a license. He was released on a $4,000 bond.
