Married couple and “not real” checks found in stolen SUV

23-year-old Brandon Hale was charged with theft of property when an officer found him inside a stolen SUV with his wife and he told police that he received the vehicle in a trade.

On October 6th, Mt. Juliet Police Officer Hoppe was dispatched to a stolen vehicle call. The officer later saw the vehicle, a 2005 Dodge Dakota, in the Mapco parking lot at 194 South Mt. Juliet Road. Contact was then made with Melinda Graves and her husband Brandon Hale who was the driver.

The Dodge was reported stolen the day before but they stated they acquired it in a trade. In booking, Wilson County Deputy Smith found six checks that were from ABC Technologies out of Gallatin TN, drawn out of Bank Of America. Melinda said the checks were for a game and were not real. The checks were made out to Melinda, Brandon, Misty Tuck, and Catina Hasty.

Brandon Hale was arrested and charged with theft of property. He was released on a $5,000 bond.
