Antioch man found with meth and stolen Franklin Police pistol in his truck

24-year-old Edgar Loredo was charged with possession of a weapon, meth, drug paraphernalia, DUI, and vandalism after damaging an off-duty cop’s car and a deputy found a stolen police pistol as well as drugs in his truck.

On October 25th, Wilson County Sheriff’s Deputy Lanius was on patrol when he observed a silver Chevy truck on Mt. Juliet Road crossing lanes of traffic. Officer Lanius then conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as Edgar Loredo. Loredo was observed with red watery eyes and slurred speech therefore several sobriety tests were administered, to which Loredo performed poorly on all of them.

Officer Lanius reported his computer showed that Loredo had a suspended license and initiated a search of the vehicle. The search revealed a dollar bill with methamphetamine, a glass pipe, and an S&W M&P 9mm reported as a stolen Franklin Police handgun. During the traffic stop, off-duty Metro Police Officer William Hudson stated Loredo sideswiped his personal vehicle while driving on Mt. Juliet Road. Officer Lanius also documented Loredo pulling off the back door handle of his patrol vehicle as he was being placed into the back of it. The estimated value of the damage done to the patrol vehicle was reported to be $100.

Edgar Loredo was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, DUI, driving with a suspended license, theft, vandalism, and leaving the scene. He was later released on a $16,000 bond.
