66-year-old Carol Ann Burlison crashed on McCrary Rd as she was driving home from a friend’s house. As police responded to the crash, she was determined to be heavily intoxicated, and admitted to having a double-shot of Jamison, a Bushwhacker, and admitted to having a gun in her purse with a round chambered. After being booked into jail she was released on her own recognizance.

| On 08/29/2021 at 2022 I, Trooper Phillips, responded to a personal injury crash in the vicinity of 416 Mccrary Road in Wilson County, Tennessee. I arrived on scene and made contact with the driver identified as Ms. Carol Ragins Burlison. Ms. Burlison stated she was driving home from a friend’s house when the crash occurred. Upon contact with Ms. Burlison I immediately noticed she had bloodshot watery eyes, slurred speech, and an odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her person. I asked Ms. Burlison how much she had to drink and Ms. Burlison stated she had consumed a double shot of Jamison liquor and an alcoholic beverage called a Bushwacker. I asked Ms. Burlison if she would perform the Standard Field Sobriety Test to which she replied she would. Ms. Burlison showed clues of impairment on all test performed. Ms. Burlison admitted to having a handgun in her possession located in a small purse inside the vehicle. A 9mm Walther PPS (Ser #AZ—-) was located in the purse and was loaded with three rounds including one round in the chamber. Ms. Burlison was placed under arrest for DUI 1st and Possession of Handgun while Under the Influence. These events did occur in Wilson County, Tennessee. |
