LEBANON, TN – Qarius Wade, Sr., 21, is charged with punching his pregnant girlfriend in the face, and assaulting her mother and her sister, after finding out the baby wasn’t his.
Lebanon Police Officer Andy Byrnes responded to a fight in progress call on Page Avenue on April 7th. Upon his arrival there were several people in the yard pointing in the direction of a vehicle which was leaving the scene, driven by 21-year-old Qarius Wade, Sr.
Officer Byrnes conducted interviews of the bystanders, including Wade’s pregnant girlfriend, who told police they pair had been “arguing most of the day because the baby is not his”. All witnesses confirm that Wade punched his girlfriend in the face “like a man” with a closed fist, causing her injury, with a knot formed on her head from the assault, and her shirt to be covered in blood.
Witnesses report that Wade chased his girlfriend’s sister out of the residence, and followed her around the house, at which point she ran backside and locked herself in a bedroom out of fear, and Qarius broke the door down to get to her. Wade also ‘got in the face’ of his girlfriend’s mother, was witnesses screaming at her, threatening her, and eventually shoving her while she was holding a baby.
A warrant was issued for Qarius Sha’heed Wade’s arrest, charging him with domestic assault, two counts of assault. He was located and arrested on May 1st, when he was additionally charged with criminal impersonation. He was booked and then posted a $2,000 bond via Watkins Bonding.
