Interstate 40 accident results in drug and gun charges for Winchester woman

52-year-old Deanna Weaver was charged with possession of heroin, driving under the influence, possession of a firearm while under the influence, and possession of drug paraphernalia when her vehicle was involved in an accident near Mile Marker 235.

On February 14th, Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Chery responded to an accident involving two vehicles on Interstate 40 East near Mile Marker 235. According to the affidavit, the officer observed Deanna Weaver to be lethargic, her speech difficult to understand from slurring, and that she struggled greatly with basic tasks.

According to the affidavits, Weaver was so unsteady on her feet that she had to use her vehicle to balance. Weaver also exhibited impairment on all portions of a sobriety exam. A search of her purse yielded a “plastic bag containing a small quantity of an off white powder believed to be heroin” and a grinder with residue. A “.357 Magnum caliber Taurus Model 605 revolver” was located in the center console.

Deanna Weaver was arrested and charged with possession of heroin, driving under the influence, possession of a firearm while under the influence, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $6,500.
