Intoxicated man knocks on Wilson County Jail door to see when his girlfriend gets out

52-year-old James Muncie was charged with public intoxication after he went to the Wilson County Jail while intoxicated, knocked on the restricted access door, and asked booking deputies when his girlfriend was getting out.

On May 11th, James Muncie went to the Wilson County Jail where deputies heard him knocking on the sally port door. When deputies in booking went to the door, James said he was trying to find out when his girlfriend was getting out of jail.

One of the deputies called Lebanon Police to come talk to James. When officers arrived, contact was made with James. Officers noted that he smelled strongly of intoxicant on his breath and person, he had red watery eyes, and slurred speech.

James Muncie was arrested and charged with public intoxication. He was later freed on pre-trial release.
