20-year-old Aurora Dawn Paquette was charged with driving under the influence after a state trooper saw her vehicle crashed along Interstate 40. When contact was made she was staring into space and mumbling, per report.
On April 30th, a state trooper saw Aurora Paquette’s vehicle crashed into a cable barrier close to the 238-mile marker on Interstate 40. When the officer approached and asked Paquette what had happened, the officer reported that all she did was give a blank stare in response.
She began mumbling and staring into space, the officer stated after which he noticed that her pupils were dilated and she was unsteady on her feet. A field sobriety test was given with her permission. The officer said that she would pause and “stare into space” when performing the tasks. Paquette showed impairment on all tasks.
Aurora Paquette was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. She was later released on her own recognizance.
