22-year-old Saul Mateo was charged with driving under the influence when a Tennessee Highway Patrol sergeant reported he was looking at his phone and almost collided with a police cruiser.
On June 11th, Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Hart was called to assist with a traffic stop near the 243-mile marker on Interstate 40.
According to the affidavit, THP Sergeant Brinkley reported that Saul Mateo was looking at his phone and almost collided with his patrol vehicle. Mateo was believed to be impaired and given sobriety tests, which confirmed that assessment.
Saul Mateo was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. His bond was set at $2,500.
