Ring doorbell aids in booking of Mt. Juliet assailant

28-year-old Rayshard Mabon was charged with domestic assault after a Ring doorbell video provided footage of the man striking Amber Wylemans with a beer bottle alongside a closed fist. Wylemans sustained serious injuries to her face as a result, including a potentially broken nose and two eyes swollen shut.

On June 20th, the Mount Juliet Police Department received footage taken from a Ring doorbell of a severe assault taking place at 71-B E Caldwell Street. After officers observed the submitted video, law enforcement was dispatched to the aforementioned address to check on the victim.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with Amber Wylemans. According to the affidavit, Wylemans suffered significant injuries from the attack: the woman’s nose had the appearance of being broken, her lip sustained a severe cut and both of her eyes were swollen shut with evident bruising. Rayshard Mabon, who was determined to be the assailant during the incident, confessed to beating Wylemans with his fists as well as a beer bottle.

Rayshard Mabon was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. His bond was set at $5,000.
