Woman charged with DUI after being found slumped over in a vehicle running in drive

32-year-old Valerie Layne was charged with driving under the influence when officers responded to a call about an unresponsive person at Walmart and found her slumped over in a running vehicle that was still in drive.

On June 16th, Lebanon Police Officer Vantrease was called to the Walmart on 615 South Cumberland to the report of an unresponsive individual. According to the affidavit, Valerie Layne was found in a vehicle that was running in drive gear, slumped over.

When authorities asked for her identification she gave them her Visa card. She exhibited visible clues of impairment as well as performing poorly on sobriety tasks.

Valerie Layne was arrested and charged with driving under the influence. She was later released on her own recognizance.
