He said that he upset her when he asked her why she kept checking the lock on the front door. Officer Johns reported a noticeable injury to Daryl’s ear which he refused to comment on how he received it. Daryl said that he did not want to get his aunt in trouble. An ambulance was called to the residence to help Daryl.

Further investigation revealed that Deborah drank alcohol and used a hammer to destroy every fixture in the bathroom. After considering all of the evidence, Officer Johns came to the conclusion that Deborah hit Daryl with the hammer resulting in his injury. She was then taken into custody.

Deborah Vaughn was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. Her bond was set at $2,500.
