La Vergne man found with stolen van and meth in Mt. Juliet

40-year-old Charles Greenwood was charged with theft of property and methamphetamine possession when a Mt. Juliet officer caught him driving a van that had been reported stolen from La Vergne in June.

On July 1st, Mt. Juliet Police Officer Fialkowski was alerted to a stolen vehicle by a license plate reader. According to affidavits, he located the Ford van and identified the driver as Charles Greenwood.

The vehicle had been reported stolen from La Vergne on June 15th and was valued at $3,000. Inventory of the vehicle before it was released to the rightful owner yielded a small quantity of a crystalized substance believed to be methamphetamine.

Charles Greenwood was charged with theft of property and possession of methamphetamine. He is currently jailed in lieu of a $5,000 bond.
