Reportedly, the officer described Shaw to have red watery eyes, slurred speech, and the smell of alcohol about him. Shaw admitted to drinking before he drove and in plain view, the officer could see an open beer can and an unopened bottle of cinnamon whiskey. When Officer Martin offered for Shaw to perform a standard field sobriety test, he refused.

Ryan Shaw was arrested and charged with DUI. His bond was set at $2,500.
