21-year-old Yanissa Silva was charged with two counts of domestic assault when she hit her soon to be ex-husband multiple times and then punched her mom in the face twice when she tried to intervene.
On August 11th, MJPD Officer Hoppe was called to 14200 Lebanon Road in Old Hickory for a domestic assault in progress. When the officer arrived, Yanissa Silva was identified and detained her for questioning. The officer then identified Victor Ferreyra-Rodriguez as Yanissa’s husband and Maria Silva-Montecino as her mother. At this time Victor and Yanissa were in the process of getting divorced. Victor stated that when he arrived at the residence, Yanissa pulled in behind him. When Yanissa exited her vehicle she charged Victor in an aggressive manner and hit him two times in the back of the head and once in the face.
Victor ran around his vehicle trying to escape and Yanissa hit him two more times in the back of the head. When Maria tried to deescalate the situation, Yanissa punched her twice in the face. Maria finally got ahold of Yanissa to stop the assault and took her to the ground holding her there. Joseph Bond, the neighbor, told the officer he witnessed the situation. The officer observed a mark on Victor’s left arm and determined Yanissa was the primary aggressor.
Yanissa Silva was arrested and charged with two counts of domestic assault. Her bond was set at $2,000.
