Hermitage woman slumped in car at stop sign found with unprescribed drugs

33-year-old Ashley Calvert was charged with possession of Naproxen and alprazolam after falling asleep at a stop sign then allowing police to search her vehicle.

On October 21st, Lebanon Police Officer Taylor responded to a call at Hartsville Pike and Leland Lane of a woman passed out in her vehicle at a stop sign. Upon arrival, Officer Taylor made contact with the driver and identified Ashley Calvert slumped over toward the passenger seat asleep.

After succeeding on the sobriety tests Officer Taylor performed, Calvert gave permission for her vehicle to be searched. The search revealed ten pills of Naproxen in the center console and a blue baggie containing two pills of alprazolam in a wallet.

Ashley Calvert was arrested and charged with possession of Naproxen without a prescription and a schedule VI drug (alprazolam.) She is currently jailed on a $1,000 bond.
