Inebriated man kicked out of two halfway homes for drinking; charged with public intox

38-year-old Cornelius Wimberly was charged with multiple counts of public intoxication after he disturbed two of his previous halfway houses, breaking their non-drinking polices, and being asked to never come back.

On September 28th, Lebanon Police Officer Johns responded to a call regarding an intoxicated person at Freedom House, located at 107 West High Street. Upon arrival, Officer Johns made contact with Cornelius Wimberly. The smell of alcohol was on Wimberly and he appeared inebriated. He had red watery eyes, slurred speech, and was unsteady on his feet. Officers stated Wimberly was no longer allowed at the facility for violating their no alcohol consumption policy.

On September 29th, Lebanon Police Officer Jackson responded to a call at 437 Park Avenue regarding an unwanted person at a halfway house. When officers arrived, Wimberly was identified as the subject. Officers stated he was a previous resident but was no longer welcome there. He smelled of alcohol, was unsteady on his feet, and his eyes were red. Officers reported Wimberly was unable to answer any of their questions or hold any conversation.

Cornelius Wimberly was arrested and charged with two counts of public intoxication. He was later released on his own recognizance.
