Man could not keep hands in plain sight; busy concealing meth and heroin

feat Mahaffey Watson

52-year-old Watson Mahaffey was charged with possession of methamphetamine and heroin after he didn’t keep his hands in plain sight as ordered by a police officer and was caught hiding things.

On October 14th, Lebanon Police Officer Taylor was on South Cumberland during a routine patrol. The officer recognized a vehicle was being driven by a familiar female that had an active warrant. Officer Taylor stopped the vehicle and instructed the driver and her passenger, Watson Mahaffey, to keep their hands in plain sight while the warrant was being confirmed. Mahaffey began to take actions consistent with concealing an item and Officer Taylor made Mahaffey exit the vehicle.
