Lebanon man disappears for several days with mother’s car and debit card

39-year-old Sean McMahon was charged with joyriding after his mother gave him permission to borrow her Lexus and debit card to only purchase a new phone, but racked up a few other charges as well.

On November 2nd, Lebanon Police Officer Affourtit responded to a stolen vehicle report at the residence of 1087 Bluebird Road. Upon arrival, Ivy McMahon informed the police on October 31st, her son asked to borrow her debit card and 1998 Lexus so he could get a new phone. She stated she allowed him to use both but gave him clear instructions to return them after he bought his phone.

Angel McMahon also witnessed Sean promise to return after he made his purchase. As of November 2nd, Ivy reported Sean still did not return the vehicle or her debit card, and unauthorized purchases were made on the card.

Sean McMahon was arrested and charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle. He was later released on his own recognizance.
